Impeachment – Senate Trial III

President Trump’s legal team has responded to the House Articles of Impeachment presented to the Senate. This six-page response “Answer of President Donald J. Trump” is about as straight-forward, clearly written, and lucid retort as possible to the Houses obtuse Articles of Impeachment.

It is beyond my poor power to add or detract from this response. I would suggest all Americans read and ponder this response when deciding on the merits of his impeachment.

A much longer response; "Trial Memorandum of President Donald J. Trump", has just been released that is more legalistic and detailed then the above mentioned response. This response, I believe, will be utilized for the defense of President Trump against impeachment.

After much debate The Senate has approved "A resolution to provide for related procedures concerning the articles of impeachment against Donald John Trump, President of the United States". This resolution was passed, as expected, upon partisan lines. But given that the House impeachment was upon partisan lines the Senate followed suit.

In an extraordinary development the Republican Attorneys General Association has submitted a "Letter to the Senate" about the Impeachment of President Trump. This letter states their concerns that this impeachment is unconstitutional and should be dismissed. This letter is fairly concise, and elucidates the Constitutional issues regarding impeachment. I would encourage all to read this letter.
