The Problem is Systemic Liberalisms & Progressivisms
In the wake of the rioting, looting, and arson that has occurred in our recent past, as well as the violent demonstrations and uncivil discourse that is occurring, the cries of "Oppressive Patriarchal Hierarchical Society", “Racism is Prevalent” as well as other “The Biggest Falsehoods in America”, and my Chirp of “06/08/30 Systemic Police Bias” have abounded. Calls for systemic changes in America have proliferated. Proposed changes to “Social Policy” and “Entitlements“ will soon follow, usually without consideration of the repercussions of "Change and/or New" and “The Law of Unintended Consequences”.
Laws, rules, and regulations to combat these problems have abounded, but the problems remain. Despite increases in spending and changes to the policies at all levels of government, these problems remain. However, these problems cannot be solved by the Federal Government alone. In over half a century the Federal spending on these problems we have not fixed these problems, and indeed, have often made the problems worse. The problems must be solved at the Municipal government level with assistance from first the State government, then the Federal government.
Municipal Government Policies, Law Enforcement, and Education are the key to correcting these problems. However, Municipal governments are often constrained by the Liberals & Progressives' ideology on the solutions to these problems. Decades of Municipal and sometimes State governments ruled by the Democrat Party. Decades in which the Democrats have been in control of policy and spending. Decades in which the Democrat Party has seemed more concerned about establishing and maintaining a black voting bloc. Decades in which the problems have become worse rather than better.
For over half a century, we have seen the Democrat Party morph from ‘The Party of the People’ to ‘The Party of Liberals & Progressives’ as I have Chirped on “02/11/20 Sloganeering versus Governance”. A Democrat Party that is more interested in giving handouts rather than helping to correct these problems. A Democrat Party that exploits rather than solves these problems. A Democrat Party that is more interested in playing the Blame Game rather than resolving the problems. Throughout these decades, the Republican Party has had little, or no say in setting Municipal and State policy in these Democrat Party ruled Municipalities and States, although the Republicans have often been blamed by the Democrat Party leadership for these problems.
There is also the issue of individual responsibility. Too often, we have shifted responsibility for these problems from individuals to groups, thus diffusing responsibility and making no individual accountable for their actions. We have also pitted one group against another group, thereby diffusing the responsibility for correcting these problems. Who is really to blame for this situation? The blame must be for the individuals who continue to elect politicians that do not solve these problems but vote for politicians who often exacerbate these problems for political gain. Individuals who are swayed by groupthink and peer pressure rather than thoughtfulness. Politicians who are more concerned about the feelings of their constituents than making the hard decisions for the betterment of their constituents. People who believe in the policies of Liberalisms & Progressivisms despite the failed record of these policies.
You cannot hope that continuing to implement erroneous Liberalisms & Progressivisms policies, as I have outlined in my collected Chirps on "Progressivism and Progressives", or that spending additional monies will fix a problem. You must change these policies to be realistic and effective in solving these problems. The answer is not more Liberalism & Progressivism policies, or “Socialism is Acceptable”, nor continued Democrat Party rule of urban governments. The answer is to elect politicians that will confront and solve these problems. In today’s political environment, the best answer is to elect Republican Party politicians to see if they can solve these problems. After all, what have we to lose except, perhaps, the despair and despondency that these problems place upon America?
